Third photo is awesome!! You definitely achieved the "What is it?" reaction for me. The dark vignette around the edges of the image with the brightness of the plastic bags in the center is super magical.
Your capturing of textures in a few of the photos is very successful in that a non objective composition is kept while having a great value contrast distinguish the texture.
You really went beyond having a good variety of value, your lighting creates a contemplative atmosphere in photos 3 & 4. I also think you have an eye for finding a workable composition within the constraints of a scene.
The third and fourth photos are otherworldly. They exceed the goal of the assignment in my opinion. I can tell you have a strong eye for composition, and each photo is successful in capturing a full range of values.
Your use of light is fantastic. Especially in the first four, where you can only slightly see a ray of sunlight. It really draws a viewers eye to that spot and makes your photos very visually pleasing.
