First photo has an awesome composition, my eye moves around the whole photo across the varied textures. I would love to see more contrast in forms in each picture.
The way you cropped and angled the composition of photo seven created a nice diagonal and was very successful. All the photos are mainly mid-tones and could benefit from higher contrast, with the exception of photo one and three which have a nice range of values.
I think what unites your collection of photos here is texture, which will be easier to approach when we break out the DSLR's. Photo 1 does a great job of describing a unique surface while also being compositionally interesting. I think you'll do great in this class by pushing yourself towards more unorthodox compositions like that.
The first several photos have very interesting subjects, where I’m not exactly sure what it is I’m looking at. The texture shown in the first photo is also very strong.

ReplyDeleteThe first and third photos are especially dynamic in the way they capture contrast in textures and values. The compositions are really strong as well.
