Artist Statement:
Through this process I wanted to explore some of the shapes and forms the human body. The main concept of the shoot was creating a sense of mixed identity. I've been trying to explore my cultural background more but the disconnect I have to any culture feels like I cant find a place to belong. Sometimes I can feel at peace while other times I feel a constant struggle to understand where I come from, but can't find a correct fit into society.
Photos 1 and 8 are my favorites. In both the model's pose accentuates the composition in a way that keeps the eye moving.
ReplyDeleteIn most of these the distribution of shapes is great, I would watch for big patches of similar value that can make a photo look a bit binary, mostly photo 7. I like both halves of the image but I think the flow between them could be improved.
