Sydney Vaden Week 8

  1. Definitely a spooky vibe from all your images. The intense shadows that come to play in your later images is nice because it shows a journey of the subject. I don't see too many of the design techniques coming into play this week but maybe you could integrate them more through your setting.

  2. You created really contrasted and dramatic images this week that follow a voodoo-esque narrative. I applauded you for having a cohesive and striking set of images, but they don't show many of the elements of design. I do see the elements contrast and rule of thirds used successfully.

  3. image 1 and 2, along with 7 and 8 are pretty similar to each other. Using a cohesive and intentional subject really pays off but i feel like there's a lot more you could still do with this. Maybe take shots from directly above or have your subject hanging upside down to up the creepiness.

  4. I think the contrast in these is great. A lot of these read as diptychs, which is an interesting angle for a body of work. Photo 7 feels a bit off-balance and not quite in focus.

  5. Really nice use of contrast and leading lines. The last three photos seem a bit disconnected, but the narrative you started to tell in the first 6 makes those strong and cohesive. Some of the photos next to each other have their own sort of balance it seems, especially between photos 2 and 3.

  6. Very halloween-y! The first photo is a bit blurry. If you are going for texture on the lips then take the shot at more of an angle. I don't see much of the elements of design here. There is symmetry, leading lines, contrast, maybe balance, but I think you are missing a few elements.

  7. Really good use of contrast. As it has already been mentioned I can identify certain design principles but not all of them.
