  1. I think you managed to experiment with most of the concepts we discussed in the class and I find it very impressive. Your depiction of shallow depth of field in photo 4 seems to need darker values as the contrast created by the background building fades away with the blurriness of the background.

  2. Photos three, four, and five are similar, maybe picking the best one of the three and then other photos for your top ten could make your images more diverse. The same could be said about photos seven and six also being very similar. The last three photos are distinctly different enough from each other that they are fine together. The first two images have very strong compositions and contrast.

  3. Many of these are very similar. If you're going for a diptych or triptych vibe, consider having two or three related images count as one image submission. Your 6th image is well framed and the last three are very interesting as a group.

  4. I can barely even tell the difference between photos 7 and 8, if you’re going to showcase multiple iterations of the same shot maybe try at drastically different times of day or from a different viewpoint (birds eyes/ worms eye). Image 2 is your most visually interesting shot and works to confuse the viewer at wheat we’re looking at

  5. I agree that you could use more variation in subject and angle for a couple of groups of photos you have. It looks like you are trying the rule of thirds as well as leading lines. The first photo is interesting in a minimalist way. Keep trying new angles in your photos.

  6. The simple but strong compositions of your photos give off a real melancholy feel. I think you should have a better variety of subject matter, but overall I think your compositions and concepts are strong.

  7. Aya,
Your images this week are technically really strong. Your competence with the camera shows in your ability to expose in various settings. I appreciate your compositions, clean, simple and effective. I agree that some of your images suffered from being repetitive, I would make different choices when selecting your top 10. the angles that you chose to shoot from are good, I would like to see the compositional elements spread across various subject matter. Thats a challenge to give yourself in the coming weeks. I don't see texture, repetition, nor symmetry and balance in your group. Work on that.

  8. The viewer has to look carefully at the similarities in these images to understand the differences. I think they would benefit from a stronger contrast in depth of field and time of day. Photo 9 I feel is your strongest playing with long exposure and the use of guiding lines creates a tight composition.
