Emily Young- week 8

  1. Most of your photos all display this morning fog/ shadowy feeling. The 5th image may be a little too dark for me? I kind of want more grey tones just so you can differentiate the tree from the leaves/ branches. This could be because of the blown out bright sky.

  2. You have really nice use of contrast in most your images, photo 6 seems too bright with very little black. You only seem to have nine images in your top ten, but within those nine I see many of the design elements like repetition, pattern, morning light, and rule of thirds.

  3. image 1,3,4, and 8 are quite beautiful however I feel like they're not in the same tone as come of the other quick shots if that makes sense. The last one feels pretty out of place of the rest of photographs since they all felt very airy/foggy/outdoorsy. While some of the shots feel a little low in contrast I think it actually works in your favor to enhance the foggy atmosphere

  4. I think you did a good job of covering many of the design elements discussed in class. A lot of these are playing with light, and I get that you probably wanted to backlight your subject(you?) in the last photo, but the person's value range could probably be pushed a little more.

  5. I love the repetition and contrast in photo 4; the long shadows from the sunset give the image a lot of depth. However, it seems a bit dark and flat, and you could have probably exposed it more and increased the contrast levels to enhance it.

  6. It's nice how you set up the acorn shot and the pattern the shadows create is also nice. Make your leading lines point to a subject. More contrast could be used in photo 3.

  7. Photos 1-4 are really effective in portraying sunrise/sunset, pattern and repetition. I think your depiction of texture in photo 8 would have benefited from more right centered angle .
