Kylee Week 11: Experiments FL Story

  1. I like the concept of working with miniatures, but a few of them read as still lives. I think you should fill your compositions completely to really drive home that theme park aesthetic. Image number one may be too realistic and might scare your audience. I mean, I wasn't scared, I'm just saying that someone might get scared. Not me though

  2. I really like the level of experimentation by drawing into your photos and collaging them together in what appears to be using Photoshop? Maybe try printing them and collaging and drawing into them. Then scanning the collages to post the digital copies and consider turning in the physical collages for the Floridian story.

  3. You created meaningful compositions that communicate this idea about theme parks in Florida. I definitely agree with the other comments and I think by actually drawing/ painting onto the actual printed out photo would be more meaningful. Also a larger range in values may created stronger images.

  4. The drawings within the photos are a cool idea. Work on the value range and idea of color a bit more, what if you main color was just red. The Dinosaur world is clear and easy to read, while the bear with Disney world was a bit harder to make out.

  5. I really love the playfulness of these and your decision to draw on top of some photos. You were able to capture an eerie and empty feel from this place. Photos 8, 9, & 10 don’t capture this as well as the others however due to their flat compositions.

  6. You have great experimentation in these and I enjoy looking at all of the different strategies and photoshop tools you used. Image 8 and 9 feel out of place since they're such deadpan shots without any manipulation. To my surprise I actually really like the pink in your first image and think it works well with these playful scenes you've created

  7. I love your experimentations and I enjoyed looking at how you created a connection between the techniques and the theme behind the collection. Yet, some of these images seem too realistic compared the effect that the rest of them give.
